Promoting Community
Lambda Theta Alpha’s core values are tied to our commitment to give back to the community. Our Founding Mothers served as pioneers to this movement when they devoted our organization to fostering a support group for women in higher education during a time when none existed. We strive to continue working towards the enrichment of marginalized communities and groups by dedicating our time to fundraising and volunteering. It was as a result of this that Lambda Theta Alpha selected St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as its national philanthropy in January of 2010. We hope that in alleviating obstacles and garnering opportunities, our communities will continue to live and thrive.

Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. does not rush. Instead, we host events for potential candidates in order for them to get to know more about what being part of a sisterhood that is based on Unity, Love and Respect is all about. We have open door policy where potential candidates can come and go as they please.
We are Latin by tradition not by definition and encourage all ladies from different backgrounds to check us out! We do not discriminate based on gender, class, sexual orientation, race, etc.
One of the primary concerns of Lambda Theta Alpha has been and continues to be the growth and diversity of its sisterhood. As the first Latin sorority ever created to cater towards the needs of Latinas in the nation, Lambda Theta Alpha recognizes the importance of reaching out to others and forming a united coalition of professional, diverse, culturally and politically aware women. We are not an exclusive group of women and believe that all women alike should be given the opportunity to make their mark on the world and follow their dreams. This is our right and profound legacy.
