L.E.O. strives to promote higher education through the introduction of the growing field of computer science and other STEM related fields. At the local level our team works with multiple local Santa Barbra High School Classrooms in an effort to guide them through the college application process. While at the same time help first generation college bound students transition from High School to a four-year University. At large L.E.O. works with the Education Talent Search (ETS) and gives visiting students a campus tour of UCSB and exposes them to the lifestyle of a college students. To further promote higher education L.E.O. brings high school students from the SB area and the greater Los Angeles to UCSB for a two-day event. In which they get the full college experience, undergo multiple workshops, and compete in a coding competition. Where the winning team gets an additional field trip to big Tech companies like YouTube, Google, or Microsoft.
